Ebbie K. Nakhjavani started his career in development in 1987 with Melvin Simon and Associates, now Simon Property Group, as Site Development Manager and Manager of Engineering. He was responsible for all site-related design, entitlements and construction management of over 50 retail and mixed-use projects throughout the western United States. Having been fortunate enough to work directly with Melvin Simon and Herb Simon, Ebbie was able to play an instrumental role engaging in high-level meetings with Simon’s top business relations across the U.S. alongside Melvin Simon and Herb Simon.

In 1990, Melvin Simon & Associates closed its Western Regional office and centralized in Indianapolis providing Ebbie with an excellent business opportunity to embark on his own path in engineering and development consulting by launching his own firm that initially employed 25 people and rapidly expanded to nearly 100 employees. With Simon’s sanction, Ebbie immediately gained access to a multitude of development opportunities to work with Simon’s partners who were continuing with cancelled joint ventures with Simon. Ebbie founded and managed EKN Engineering and Terrafirma Development Group in 1990, which later he assumed sole ownership and re-launched as N Consulting Engineers and EKN Development Group in 2012. With Ebbie’s strong knowledge and background in retail and commercial real estate, his in-depth tenure is nationally recognized in retail, hospitality, commercial, and mixed-use projects with over $7 billion in total built project valuation.

In 2001, Ebbie Nakhjavani had the opportunity to bring real estate development expertise to the developers of the Las Vegas Monorail, the Transmax Group, and established York Capital as the Managing Member and major shareholder, and later established Transit Real Estate Development (TRED) as the major partner and CEO of the development arm of XpressWest. With partners Tony Marnell and Gary Theraldson, Ebbie led York and TRED in close cooperation with Caesar's Entertainment, Harrah’s, and other major stakeholders in Las Vegas to advance many development and transportation projects. The future of XpressWest is still playing out and is available on a separate website. Among some of the highlights, Ebbie Nakhjavani secured $100 million Line of Credit from First Interstate Bank and spearheaded the master planning and acquisition and development of the Desert Gateway 50,000 acre master-planned community in Southern California including 1,200 acres of commercial and mixed uses and 60,000 residential units. The project was approved as a part of a multi-agency Master Developer Agreement spearheaded and adopted under Ebbie’s leadership. Another significant TRED project in planning is the development of a 38-acre hotel and casino mega-resort in Las Vegas pending the financing of the XpressWest.

Ebbie holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and is registered as a Professional Engineer with the National Civil Engineer Examiners and is currently licensed in the western 11 States.
